Scrapbooking Sketch - blog hop inspiration for you

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm hopping with another bunch of amazing scrapbookers with the Scrapbooking Global group.

We have a monthly blog hop with LOTS to inspire you EVERY month!!  This month, we have a sketch challenge - and I LOVE a good sketch to get me started scrapping!

Hopefully you can see EXACTLY how I've been inspired by this sketch!!

My page is TOTALLY created using the Sweet Thoughts memories and more cards

I love the sticker sheet from the memories and more cards!!  The little butterflies and heart really pop and look great on my page.

To create the journalling aspect on my page, I trimmed 2 little journal labels and stuck them together to make it look like 1 separate journalling panel.

The colours for my page are Pretty Peacock and black and white - I ALWAYS use my photos as my first step in choosing colours and I took into account the colours for the memories and more cards too.

The totally cool thing about these memories and more cards is all the butterfly motifs which is exactly what is on the sketch!

My last step for my page was to flick a little pretty peacock ink to try and replicate the dotty details from the sketch image.  Check out that cool little round 'today' sticker - exactly like the sketch!!  That was lucky!!

I hope you're inspired!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see LOTS of brilliant inspiration .

Paper Crafting Monthly Blog Hop - Celebrating Retirement!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Qunn.

Today I'm celebrating some of our retiring products to share with you.   I've been having a fabulous time with the Sweet Thoughts Memories and More cards and envelopes.

These are just AWESOME cards and envelopes.  The only extra things I've added is some Basic White, Calypso Coral and Pretty Peacock cardstock.  ALL of the other stuff is from the Memories and More card pack - including stickers and fun imagery.

I've cut up some of the images and others just have stickers on them.

I have a bunch of butterfly cards, some cards featuring the floral paintbrush and a few cards with the flowery cards.

Check out my video showing all these cards in more details AND the insides of the cards too.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing inspiration for you.

Scrapbooking blog hop - sharing creativity and inspiration.

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Do you need some Scrapbooking inspiration?  This blog hop is for YOU.

This page is VERY bright - and because there are 4 standard photos on the page, not a lot of room for anything extra either!

I actually used this colour challenge as my starting point and used only these colours - which did seem to coordinate with my photos quite well I think.  If you look at the whole page, you can see I created a semi rainbow of colour going around the page and photos.

I've used a NEW die set called Flowers of Beauty - the cool thing about these dies is that it cuts out 8 flowers simultaneously!!  Woohoo.  What an easy embellishment!

When I was creating this page, I was chatting with my friend Jannette and she came up with the title for the page - choir of angels describing the photos of all of us with angel wings - what do you think?

The background stamping for the page comes from a stamp set called Of Art and Texture which has some cool splodges and textural images - I just used all the colours for the rainbow wreath!!

I've also coloured a few paper butterflies using Coastal Cabana to 'fly' around the page - keeping in with the wings theme!!

The journalling was highlighted using another new die set to me - Unbounded Love - full of great labels and shapes for all sorts of occasions!!

The most notable thing about this page is ALL THE COLOUR - which is a big challenge for me.  I did have fun though, and I'm glad to another page to put into my album!!
Make sure you keep hopping now to see lots of amazing inspiration for you!

Punch inspiration CTC#465

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Tonight I'm joining the CASEING the CATTY blog hop to inspire you!!  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week, we are CASEING a project featuring a retiring punch.

I was inspired by this great card on page 94 of our retiring Annual Catalogue which features the retiring Inked and Tiled punch bundle.  I've cased the layout of the card and the greeting details.

My card features some gorgeous new paper from the Thoughtful Journey Suite.  The greeting has been punched using the very versatile Happy Labels punch.

I've used the gorgeous designer paper, and the Thoughtful Journey stamp set and dies for the detailed elements.  To create the ribbon I coloured some White Diagonal Trim ribbon using my Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends (Dark).  My final touch is some gorgeous glittery In Color Shimmer Gems.

Inside the card features more stamping, some of the gorgeous paper and a bit of colouring.

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots of amazing projects.
